According to Rick Warren’s letter, his son has committed suicide last Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Matthew Warren, was the youngest son of Rick Warren and Kay Warren. He was 27 years old. He had suffered from mental illness resulting in deep depression and suicidal thoughts and it was the reason why he took his own life and that’s according to the statement from Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, California.

“Matthew was an incredibly kind, gentle and compassionate young man whose sweet spirit was encouragement and comfort to many,”.
